Vembu is set to make a blast with its latest release of Vembu BDR v2.1.0 that will unleash BDR’s full potential. The release of  Vembu BDR v2.1.0 beta version that provides all new set of features like Hyper-V CBT, VHDx support, VMWare disk level restore and extended disk size support to its customers. Vembu steps into advancement of revolutionizing virtual environment with great features.

Hyper-V CBT:

Hyper-V CBT helps with backups of business data at times of a disaster. When a disaster strikes your business that causes servers to go down, then you can utilize the instant boot feature that allows you to get your servers virtually active in a HyperV machine. Instant boot feature allows you to resume your daily activities without much hassle. While VM is running, the business can recover from the disaster and get back to its physical environment. After the physical environment is set up again, all that is needed is to power down the VM and resume the processes in the physical environment where the VM left off.

In a normal process of instant booting, the changes made while working on a VM will be stored in a temp memory that will be erased when the VM is powered down. Hyper-V CBT feature allows for those changes made to be tracked via CBT method and will get stored separately on a backup storage location. This allows for multiple choices that lets you restore disk images along with the VM changes and you can also reboot your VM while resuming your uncompleted job.

VHDx support:

VHDx support is a feature for those users, who do not want to rely on 2TB for their backups. VHD did not allow for disks of size greater than 2TB, it had a size restriction that made users confined on MBR. VHDx supports backup disks of size up to 64TB and it improved performance when compared to VHD with 4KB logical sectors. It has an added advantage over VHD, by tracking metadata which avoids data loss due to power interruptions.

Along with these two major features comes the support for VMware disk level restore and GPT disk support (disks of size greater than 2TB) that lets users make use of Vembu BDR v2.1.0 to its full potential.
