BDRShield v9.5.0 is now available with enhanced multi-tenant management and expanded resumable backup support. The release gives administrators more control over tenant access and resources, while helping more interrupted backup and Backup Copy jobs continue from where they stopped.
For MSPs and IT teams managing multiple environments, these updates reduce administrative complexity and help avoid repeating completed backup work after an interruption.
What is new in BDRShield v9.5.0
Enhanced multi-tenant management
BDRShield v9.5.0 extends multi-tenant management across Self-Managed, Hybrid, and MSP environments. Administrators can create and manage tenants with access policies suited to each management model.
The release adds:
- Role-based access control for tenant users and administrators
- Tenant-level repository and storage management
- Tenant-level quota management
- Tenant-level protected entity management
- Tenant-aware backup and recovery operations
- Tenant-aware notifications and reporting
These controls help administrators separate resources and responsibilities between tenants while managing protection through the appropriate BDRShield operating model.

For MSPs, this supports clearer administration across customer environments. For internal IT teams, it can help organize backup operations across business units, locations, or other administrative boundaries.
Resumable backups for more workloads and job types
When a supported backup is interrupted, BDRShield can resume the operation from where it stopped instead of restarting it from the beginning. In v9.5.0, resumable backup support now covers additional workloads and Backup Copy jobs.
Expanded support includes:
- KVM backups
- Proxmox backups
- Backup Copy jobs for Disk Image workloads
- Backup Copy jobs for VMware workloads
- Backup Copy jobs for Hyper-V workloads
This is useful for larger jobs and environments where a temporary interruption could otherwise require the backup operation to begin again. By continuing supported jobs from the interruption point, teams can avoid repeating backup work that has already been completed.
Security Updates
Upgraded Stack: Upgraded to the latest stable versions of Apache and PHP for better performance, security, and compatibility
Why this release matters
BDRShield v9.5.0 focuses on three practical areas of day-to-day backup administration.
- Clearer tenant control: Define access and manage repositories, storage, quotas, and protected entities at the tenant level.
- Better resource separation: Keep tenant operations organized across Self-Managed, Hybrid, and MSP environments.
- More continuity after interruptions: Resume supported KVM, Proxmox, and Backup Copy jobs without restarting them from the beginning.
- Less repeated backup work: Continue eligible interrupted operations from their stopping point.
- Better-maintained application foundation: Updated web-serving and application-runtime components bring current security fixes, maintenance improvements, and continued compatibility without changing established backup workflows.
