First it was the Hyper-V and VMware and now the wait for XenServer is finally over. Vembu Virtual Appliance has finally tied the knot with XenServer, making it available for the third alternative virtual platform.
A quick intro for new entrants.. Vembu Virtual Appliance is a instant server setup provided as a zip package which can be downloaded, unzipped and mounted in a Hypervisor as an alternate to backup servers.
The setup comes with Vembu BDR v2.1.0 application pre installed in an Ubuntu 14.04 operating system. Clients can get their machine data backed up easily and reduce construction and maintenance costs of servers, an important consideration for entry level SMB with low budgets for server maintenance.
To install Vembu Virtual Appliance in XenServer:
- Download the Zip file from downloads page.
- Unzip it.
- Create a virtual machine using the unzipped file (A image format).
