Vembu BDR has provides support for several plugins including Exchange Server, Exchange Mailbox, SQL Server, SharePoint, Disk Image, VMware and MySQL. Vembu has enhanced plugin features by adding a pervasive database backup to satisfy IT admin requirements.
Each Local machine has several APIs to communicate with different applications. The Distributed Tuning Interface API utility helps Vembu BDR to support backup for PervasiveSQL databases. Vembu BDR supports PervasiveSQL database backup in two ways:
- Full PervasiveSQL database backup
- Incremental PervasiveSQL database backup
Full Pervasive SQL database backup allows the users to backup their entire Pervasive SQL database. Incremental backups are taken once the full backup is completed. Incremental backups only back up the modified portions of the full backup.
Pervasive databases will be backed up using Continuous Operations Mode for files. Through this mode the customer’s database is backed up by taking a snapshot. With the help of the DTI API, Vembu BDR puts active files into Continuous Operations Mode to upload and removes all databases from the backup server.
