VM Failover
Switch workloads instantly to replica VMs when disasters strike. Keep your business running with automated failover and flexible recovery options.
Proven Results. Trusted Worldwide.
Instant Failover for Business Continuity
- Replicate business-critical VMs from one Hyper-V host to another on the same or different site
- Instantly start replicated VMs on another site during VM crashes or disasters
- Network and IP-Remapping ensures replica VMs run with configured network settings
- Failover to specific recovery points or groups of dependent VMs
How VM Failover Works
Automated Workload Switching
When source VMs crash or become corrupted, the failover process automatically switches workloads to replica VMs. The replica takes over all production activities temporarily, acting as the source machine.
Flexible Recovery Options
Choose from multiple recovery points for failover. Configure dependent VM groups to failover together, maintaining application dependencies and data integrity across your infrastructure.
Smart Network Configuration
With Network and IP-Remapping configured, replica VMs automatically adopt the correct network and IP settings during failover, ensuring seamless connectivity and minimal reconfiguration.
Snapshot-Based Changes
All data created after failover is stored in snapshot delta files. This approach gives you complete control over whether to commit or revert changes based on your specific requirements.
Failover Management Options
- Testing failover procedures without affecting production data
- Scenarios where the original server is recovered and operational
- Situations where post-failover data should be discarded
- All failover changes are committed to disk permanently
- Snapshot consolidation ensures clean VM state
- Replica VM becomes the primary production machine
- VM is excluded from replication jobs after permanent failover
- Further incrementals are blocked to maintain data integrity

“I don’t think any platform can beat BDRSuite’s pricing. The cost is much lower than paying thousands per month for Datto, Kaseya, or Veeam”
“I tried Veeam and Microsoft’s built-in BU. It was OK, but price, performance, and features caused BDRSuite to win out!”
“It’s very cheap and it’s absolutely competitive. It’s very cheap compared to what I can charge my customers for the service.”
